Entourage 2008 wrong time zone for emails

C

Conrad

Running OS X 10.6.1, Entourage 2008 12.2.1.

Somewhere around when I upgraded to Snow Leopard, I noticed that
Entourage now thinks that I am in GMT - for email only - and adjusts
the display of the timestamps accordingly. (The absolute times are
correct - they are stamped as if I am in GMT, but I am in the Eastern
Time Zone). Calendar event times are correct. I have set and reset my
OS X timezone, and the default TZ for calendar events in Entourage,
but no luck.

Has anyone seen this? Any idea for a fix?

I found another person who is having the same issues as I -

html
- I hope this can get resolved ASAP.

Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or
if it¹s your User¹s folder that contains the problem.

We're not seeing wide reports for this issue, but for those that are
experiencing the problem it must be awful.

* Open System Preferences/ Date and Time and select Time Zone. Click on the
map and select your time zone. Restart your computer.

* Try to do a geo-locate on your I.P. Address by checking "set time zone
automatically using current location under the Time Zone" tab and see where
it reports your current location.

* In iCal preferences, there is a check box for "turn on time zone support."
If you leave it unchecked, iCal will automatically adjust to your current
time zone and move the events forward/back by the appropriate number of
hours. If you check "turn on time zone support" a drop-down menu will appear
at the upper right of the iCal page allowing you to select the time zone you
wish to view. In this mode, iCal does not automatically move the events
unless you select a new time zone manually.

* You might try re-installing Snow Leopard. Insert the DVD and install over
your current install. It installs like a combo updater. Make sure you are
updated to 10.6.1. This has solved some odd problems like this.

I've heard rumors that the next Snow Leopard update is due out soon. Let's
hope it helps with these issues.

BTW, forum.soft32 is just another interface to the Entourage newsgroup just
like Mactopia forums and Google groups are an interface to the newsgroup.

If you use a newsreader rather than the interfaces to this newsgroup you can
download old messages and search for answers. If you are not familiar with
a newsreader, Entourage's basic newsreader already has the Microsoft News
server included. All you do is subscribe to the newsgroups you want. See
this article for help subscribing using the Entourage newsreader:

Well, as it turns out there was some file corruption with my OS X
installation, and reinstalling Snow Leopard fixed the problem. Glad
that's over with...
