Entourage Address Book

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop How do you open your address book without the program freezing. The only way out of it is to Force Quit entourage ... but you can't access any contacts in address book unless you enter the name in search.

How do you open your address book without the program freezing.

It sounds like your identity is corrupted. Launch entourage pressing
the Option key down to rebuild it,

Thanks Corentin. That's what I thought. In fact I have had several messages to that effect and have rebuilt several times. Now, unfortunately, whenever I try holding down the Option key, I do not get the rebuild options just a message saying the utility will not open as I must close all Office applications, when I close them all I still get the same message asking me to close them. I think I am in trouble. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, Much appreciated./

Launch the Activity Monitor from /Applications/Utilities
you can filter the list using keywords like Microsoft.

Quit all Microsoft-related processes and try again,
