entourage and adddress book

Opening up entourage, computer freezes to address book and many addresses open up, address book icon flashes and I cannot get back to mail. Can I reload Office Mac 2008 without loosing all my e-mails and contacts?

Make sure Office is perfectly up to date (12.1.2), make sure MacOS X is
perfectly up to date, then launch Entourage pressing the alt key down to
get to the database utility. Rebuild your identity and hopefully the
problem will go away,
