Entourage and Exchange 2007 SSL Problem

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

We just upgraded to Exchange 2007 and we are experiencing ssl cert issues with our Entourage 2008 clients.

Domain: ourdomain.someuniv.edu
Exchange Ent 2007: mailserver.ourdomain.someuniv.edu

Easy/friendly URL for email server: tmail.someuniv.edu

Since everybody uses the easy URL we have always had our ssl cert based on that URL. So Exchange 2003 OWA users would just enter tmail.someuniv.edu and they would get an encrypted coonection with no SSL errors. The
same would go for our 300+ Entourage 2008 users. In the email server/OWA server field we would put the tmail.someuniv.edu and users would
get an error free SSL encryption.

Since we have upgraded to Exchange 2007 we tell Entourage 2008 that the owa server is tmail.someuniv.edu and it connects, but then appears to redirect to mailserver.ourdomain.someuniv.edu and gives the invalid SSL cert error. The cert is from a major provider, it is NOT a GoDaddy cert.

Does anyone no how to prevent the redirection?

BTW, OWA, imap, and Outlook users work great with our cert. They connect with no ssl issues, because they are not being redirected.

Thanks for your help,

Jason

That sounds like an Exchange server question... :-\
You might want to post it in one of the exchange server groups.

Update:

I found the easiest solution to our problems was to buy a new SSL Cert that allowed for "Subject Alternatives" or basically 2 domain names in one cert. It costs almost twice as much, but it did instantly solve our problem.
