Entourage Calendar won't sync

A fews weeks ago my Treo 650 stopped syncing with my iBook. I have
been scouring forums, knowledge bases, and even tried contacting
customer support but so far no solution. I'm hoping someone out there
can help.

I am running Entourage X (Service Release 1), syncing with Missing
Sync (5.1.2) and the Microsoft Entourage Conduit (10.4.1). When I
sync (using USB/cable), the sync seems to hang on "Synchronizing Date
Book" and ultimately fails with the error message "The connection
between your handheld computer and the desktop was lost. Some of your
data was not backed up. Please check your setup and try again." I
then have to "Force Quit" the Missing Sync application on my laptop.

The Contacts, Notes and Tasks seems to have synced, but not the
Calendar.

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling all the related software - Palm
OS, Missing Sync and Microsoft Entourage conduit. I have rebuilt the
Entourage database (at the suggestion of the Missing Sync support rep
who said since this involves the Microsoft conduit they don't support
it). I've run "dbScan" on my Treo. I even trashed the "Entourage
Storage file" as described onthe Microsoft page (http://
www.microsoft.com/mac/otherproducts/officex/using.aspx?type=howto&article=/mac/LIBRARY/feature_articles/officex/en_PS5_Tshoot.xml).

So far nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas?

I AM SO FRUSTRATED I"M READY TO THROW THIS THING OUT THE WINDOW!!!

I had this problem once. The calendar database was too large. I
reduced the amount it sync'd as opposed to my whole calendar which had
over 5000 items. Try reducing it to say the last 4 weeks and all
future events and see what happens. I use Entourage 2004 so I'm not
familiar with your version and I know it uses a different conduit but
this might be the problem. The other thing, in 2004 there is an item
to check to work with current handhelds as current handhelds have more
fields than the older ones. I don't know if you're conduit has this
option though. But I'd first really try seeing if it would sync on a
smaller sized calendar. The message that it is losing the handheld
connection suggests to me this is the problem.

thanks for your response. I tried just syncing one week and still it
still times out...

Make sure all recurring events that you are synchronizing have end dates.
There is a bug in some versions of the Handheld Synchronization conduit that
keeps it from being able to synchronize recurring events without end dates
properly.
