Entourage Calendar

Long time user of long gone Expresso (Berkeley Systems) wants to know
why calendar designers have apparently decided that clients will never
want to mimic the physical use of a pen to draw a line across several
dates and mark it "Beach" or "NYC conference" or "Inlaws here"?

No calendar program that I've seen has been able to reproduce that great
"Banner" function of Expresso.

Am I wrong?

Yes, I think you're wrong. If you enter a date, say Jan 1st for the
start, and then enter Jan 15th for the end, the calendar will show a
bar through all the dates from the 1st to the 15th. Have fun at the
beach :)

Yes. So I've seen in iCal, Now and the others. But Expresso let you
mimic how you'd do it on a printed calendar instead of dragging you thru
windows of forms to fill out. Talk about super-intuitive, Expresso
allowed you to type directly on a calendar square. For an Expresso user,
clicking in a box only to be presented with a complicated window to fill
out, just to jot an item to remember, has to be considered a GUI meltdown.

Expresso. Gone but not forgotten.
