Entourage changes the dates after 2 days

Normally I sort the mails by their dates. So it says today and shows the
mails for today, then yesterday

But the mails earlier than those are all dated 05/01/09 and shown under
"this year"

This date is not special in any way. Not the date I bought this laptop or
the date I installed entourage.

In fact they are just shown that way. When I click the mail and check, I can
see their original dates.

What can be the reason and the solution?

Are you using the Preview Pane below the mail list? You may just need
to add a Date Column, or switch to the right-side Preview Pane.

Can you post a screenshot if following the test steps below fails to find
the culprit for the problem?

Steps to help determine where the problem is located.

1) you can eliminate your Identity by creating a new Identity in Entourage
and see if you experience the same problem.

2) if a new Identity still exhibits the same issues, then create a new User
in System Preferences and test Entourage there.

3) If the problems still exist in the new User, it's a problem with your
Office install or your base OS files. If running the Apple combo does not
fix, then you might need to do an "Archive & Install".

I'm not using the preview pane and the date column is added.

Are you sure that the date shown in the Preview Pane is the Date Sent and
not the Date Received. Date Received is the day that Entourage downloaded
the message to its database; you want Date Sent.
