Entourage constantly crashing and getting worse with each update

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop Entourage 2008 is constantly crashing, saying it has to close. Thishappens when reading received emails. With each update from Microsoft it seems to be getting worse and is now crashing most days at least once. I have done the usual things like rebuilding the database and repairing file permissions. I have also cleared caches using Snow Leopard cache cleaner, all with no improvement. Does anyone know if there are any plist files I should delete and allow Entourage to rebuild them. I have sent dozens of crash reports to Microsoft.

I have also cleared caches using Snow Leopard cache cleaner,

Did you delete the older Microsoft fonts after upgrading to Snow Leopard?

Please reply to this thread if you are still seeing Entourage crash as you originally reported.

Yes, Entourage crashes frequently on every Mac I own.

I¹m constantly testing files for Entourage users and I rarely crash
Entourage. When troubleshooting you need to determine where the source of
the problem is located.

Steps to help determine where the problem is located.

1) you can eliminate your Identity by creating a new Identity in Entourage
and see if you experience the same problem.

2) if a new Identity still exhibits the same issues, then create a new User
in System Preferences and test Entourage there.

3) If the problems still exist in the new User, it's a problem with your
Office install or your base OS files. If running the Apple combo does not
fix, then you might need to do an "Archive & Install".

Let us know what your tests show and THEN we might be able to help you to
further troubleshooting to solve the problem.

I have 3 Mac, they all have the crashing problem. It started months before Snow Leopard was released. I've done all that has been said perviously. The error message is the inability to process a javascript. It always seems to crash when I click to read a new message. When entourage returns, that message can not be delete without crashing again unless I select two (2) messages (that one and another)

I can not believe a problem that is about a year old has not been resolved. I process 300 to 400 email each day and crash 4 to 5 times. Its a royal pain.

As a workaround, open Entourage Preferences are Security. I suggest that
users set Download Pictures to Never to stop the crashes and click on the
Download Pictures link for the ones they want to view.

You could try a clean install of the OS then install Office. The crashes
should go away then.

A clean reinstall is not really a viable option for me and I suggest many others. A hard disc partition throws away about 20GB of hard disc space that is not recoverable, after you have found that the new installation is little if any better. I have about 100 applications, many of them downloaded. I would have to reinstall most of them, find all the serial numbers etc - this is about 2 days work - it would be cheaper for me to buy a new MacBook Pro in lost billable time. This is really a Microsoft problem, which needs a solution by Microsoft, not dubious work arounds for end users. "View you emails slower" - what???????? Sorry Diane, I think the motto for Microsoft is "must try harder"

Sorry Diane, I think the motto for Microsoft is "must try harder"

I don¹t work for Microsoft. You should send them feedback to let them know
you want improvements. All I can do is offer options and workaround for what
we have.

Send feedback to Microsoft.

When working in Office, you can use the ³Send Feedback² option under the
Help menu in all of the Office applications or visit
