Entourage disregards rules

I've set up rules to have a certain person's emails go to a certain folder. However Entourage for some reason disregards them.

I also have a lot of regular mail going into my delete folder without any rule to do so.

Entourage rules are local to the machine it will only work when Entourage is
active. Also for your regular emails moving to the deleted folder make sure
you don't have any mailing list manager configured.

There are 3 different kind of rules in Entourage:

Mailing List Manager (MLM)
Junk Mail Filter
Rules (custom rules you create)

They run in the order listed above. The custom rules also run in the order
they are listed. (top runs first)

Try moving the problem rules higher in the list.

You must have a rule that is moving the message. The most likely culprit is
the Mailing List Manager (MLM). It's very easy to set up a MLM rule by
accident, when you are marking a message as 'not junk'. The wording of that
dialog is ambiguous to say the least. Check if there is an MLM entry (look
for MLM entries under the tools menu) with the incorrect destination folder
as the target folder. Mailing List Manager rules run before your other
rules.
