Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Power PC
Email Client: pop

I am having a problem with my launch of Entourage. The error message I receive is: The application "Entourage" could not be launched because of a shared library error: ".<Microsoft Entourage><StuffItEngineSDKLib><><>

In addition, the console log shows this message
/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Microsoft Entourage[1628] Launch failed with error code -2821 (cfragInitFunctionErr) for application -psn_0_36569089

I have uninstalled by sending the microsoft folder to the trash, I have removed the preferences according to directions . I have also downloaded the microsoft software updater.
I have seen other postings for this problem but no real answers and solutions. If anyone has any ideas or solutions it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Office installed Stuffit Expander as part of the install. I was thinking
this was Office X instead of 2004. You could try downloading the free
Stuffit and installing it.

For shared library errors:

First try downloading the combo updater from Apple and run it again rather
than using Software Update. Doing so overwrites potentially problem-causing
files. Use "Remove Office" and re-install and update Office. If this does
not work, you might need to do an Archive & Install of the OS.
