Entourage EWS - Send on behalf - Distribution Group

V

Vincent Kolano

Hello,

Our Entourage users want to send email on behalf of a distribution group, AD
permission has been set and it work just fine with Outlook 2007.
Once we add the distribution group in the delegated accounts in entourage
2008, it appears as (unconnected) in the left frame and user can't send
emails.

We're able to choose the distribution group in the "from" but email get
stuck in the mailbox.

Exchange 2007 sp1 - Rollup 8
Macosx 10.5.x / 10.6.x
Entourage Web Edition

Thanks for your feedback

How are you adding the distribution group?

Since you mention the left frame, it sure sounds like you are connecting to
a mailbox/calendar or other object. The number #1 reason something is
listed as "unconnected" when accessing a shared resource is lack of
permission (or sadly too often in Entourage/Exchange interactions
inability to get permissions properly).

Could you list the steps you take to connect to the distribution group?

Thanks,

Bill

Bill,

After setting permission on my exchange powershell console (get-distributiongroup "distributiongroupname" | add-adpermission -user user1 -extendedrights Send-As).

On the entourage client, I get in the account properties and add the distribution group in my delegated users.

Thanks for your help.

Bill,
I just would like to add that it works good with Entourage 2008 before EWS.

Sorry to drop in late on this discussion, but Vincent, did you find a
resolution to your problem? We have experienced the same issue and I
just started digging today.

Thanks,
Marc
