Entourage for Mac

I am running Entourage for Mac, Service Release 1, Version 10.1.6.
Upon opening it, I have begun to get the error message "Could not open
that feature. Mail error." This has happened before and I suspect it
is because there are too many items in the Deleted Items folder, but
clicking on that folder gets the same error message. I have
previously solved this problem by rebuilding the database (i.e.,
opening Entourage with the option button down and rebuilding.) But
this time, when I open Entourage with the option button pressed, I do
not get the dialog screen asking if I really want to rebuild. It just
opens Entourage as usual, with the same dead end result. Does anyone
have a suggestion as to what to do? Does anyone know of another way to
get to the rebuild option?

Mail error indicates it's coming from your ISP. Is this a POP or IMAP
account? Is your mailbox full? How full is your hard drive?
