Entourage IMAP problem (Error -17997)

I have an IMAP account that just recently has stopped working. Each time it
attempts to get mail from AOL, I get "Error -17997, unexpected data was
encountered." It has worked fine for months, and I can still send email. I
have tried multiple times deleting the IMAP account and establishing a new
one, but that has not changed anything. Under a separate identity, I am
able to access a different AOL account. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks,

I'm not familiar with that error and I don't see it documented anywhere. Try
changing your IMAP server to imap.cs.com and enabling SSL. See if that
helps.

I don't suppose you recently signed up for AOL PassCode?

I think did recently sign up for an AOL PassCode, but think this problem
preceded that. Now I've got to figure out how to unsign up if that has
anything to do with this? The suggested fix didn't do the trick, but thanks
very much for the suggestion.

If you did sign up for PassCode, you will be unable to use Entourage for
your AOL email.
