Entourage mail is dumping my Yahoo Mail

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Somehow I have all my yahoo mail now going to Entourage. When I get a message sent to yahoo, it is in my "IN Box" for a minute, then it disappears and is found in entourage. I do not want this but cannot find the cure. Is there anyone out there that can set me straight? Thanks.

You must have a rule that is moving the message. The most likely culprit is
the Mailing List Manager (MLM). It's very easy to set up a MLM rule by
accident, when you are marking a message as 'not junk'. The wording of that
dialog is ambiguous to say the least. Check if there is an MLM entry (look
for MLM entries under the tools menu) with the incorrect destination folder
as the target folder. Mailing List Manager rules run before your other
rules.

There are 3 different kind of rules in Entourage:

Mailing List Manager (MLM)
Junk Mail Filter
Rules (custom rules you create)

They run in the order listed above. The custom rules also run in the order
they are listed. (top runs first)

I just deleted my yahoo pop account from Entourage tostop it from happening. What else could I do, I could not find a MLM rule, when I went to Tools, then Rules. I just want it to stop.

Go to Tools in the Menu bar and select Mailing List Manager not Rules.

If you don't want your Yahoo mail in Entourage then go to Tools -->
Accounts... and delete your Yahoo account settings.

Hi Diane

I am a new user to Entourage and Apple - on top of that I'm a dyslexic technophobe!!!

I'm also experiencing the same problem as fyrguy6. I have just set up my iMac (snow leopard) but now find that my emails are removed from my lap top and appear on my Mac. I'm sure there is a simple setup problem but I just can't work it out! I have looked at the tools menu and Mailing List Manager as you recommended but can't work out what to do from there. The destination folder is marked as the inbox which is fine but the Entourage account is TAKING the emails rather than COPYING them.

Do you have any other ideas?

Regards

Martin

This sounds like you have your account setup as POP. POP downloads to your
computer then deletes from the server unless you have set "leave on server"
set under the Options tab in your Account. You'll find your account under
Tools in the Menu bar > Accounts. It will have POP or IMAP after the name.

If you are sharing emails between two computers your best bet is to switch
over to IMAP.

Your situation is not the same as fyrguy6. Your problem involves two
computers. In the future always start your own thread to get the best
results.

Cheers and Welcome to Mac! I have a few tips and links posted to help new
