Entourage not working, Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac

I have a Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac, Standard Edition. I have been trying
to open email links but Entourage always freezes up, showing the circle
rainbow/waiting symbol, when I click on the link. In fact, I can't use
Entourage and Mail at all. How do I get Entourage to work?

Also, if neither Mail nor Entourage work, the problem is probably not with
either of them but with something common to both. Apple has support forums on
their site, too. Probably your best bet.
