Entourage & Office Won't Start After Applying latest Office Update 10/13/07

Entourage quits, and Word won't start producing the error "cannot load
the Microsoft Office Shared Libraries" on my 15" aluminium PPC
PowerBook G4.

All this after installing the latest Office updates on 10/13/07. All
my OSX 10.4 updates are up to date.

Per William M. Smith, Microsoft Interop MVP - Mac/Windows of The
Entourage Help Blog, I have done the following:

1. Tried running apps from another user account.
2. Reinstalling the 10.4 OSX combo update
3. Repairing permissions and disk errors from PPC install disk.

Suggestions are welcome. Should I need to reinstall Office, is there a
way to separately back up my address book, so that can be restored?

Be sure you followed all of the steps here:

It's possible you will need to do an "Archive & Install" to fix the problem.
Just be sure to check Preserve Users and Network Settings when you select
Archive & Install.
