In your Exchange account setup (Tools > Accounts > Exchange), add the
appropriate LDAP server (which is probably the same as your Exchange server)
in the Directory tab.

For more information about using Entourage with Exchange, see
<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq/exchange_server.html>.

I've crossposted and set followups to the Entourage newsgroup.

I see that entourage is not compatible with exchange 5.5, but are
there any e-mail clients out there for os x that can run with exchange
5.5?

Entourage is partially compatible with Exchange 5.5, if the right
services are turned on.

But to answer your question: no. Other clients rely on the same hooks
that Exchange does.

^^^^^^^^^^

You mean Entourage ??
Every e-mail client supporting IMAP (like Entourage) can connect to an
Exchange 5.5 server providing IMAP is enabled of course.
If it isn't, you still might have a chance with POP :-\

As for the Global Address List, it relies on LDAP. You can set up
Entourage (or another app) to query the LDAP server (it's called
Directory Services in Entourage).

Let's say that if Entourage can't access the server, no other client can
(other than Outlook, of course).
