Entourage Print Font Size

Hi there,

I have seen this issue in this group for the past few years, but all
of the resolutions have failed to solve the problem on my machine.

Issue: When printing an email in Entourage, the print font size is
around 20 pt; i'd like to make it smaller. Changing the Preferences /
Fonts / Printed Items does no good; it changes nothing. I have
rebooted after each attempt. Note: the email being printed is just
text, NOT HTML.

Situation: I have a new MacBook (about 4 weeks old) using OS 10.5.5
and Mac Office 2008. Printing issues occurs with every printer i have
used. (e.g. Dell Color Laser, HP Color Laser, HP Office Jet). It
occurs over the network (home) and using USB (office). MS Word, etc
all work fine regarding font size so it does not appear to be a driver
issue for the printers.

Does anyone have a solution?

I'm having exactly the same problem and have been trying to sort it for ages. I have also sent in some suggestions to Microsoft to see if it will accelerate their attention to this.

I find it really frustrating, as I have to cut and paste into a word document to get an email to a manageable size for working with in a meeting!

I know you guys on the forum are not responsible for this, and i know it may be a small issue, but it sure is a big irritation and time waste for workflow.

hopefully we'll get some movement on this soon...

Have you tried going to Page Setup (on the File menu or the Print dialog
box) and scaling the page size down to say 80%?

Experiencing the same problem... I even tried to delete the Entourage Preference file found in Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008/Entourage Preferences, by quitting Entourage, sent the above file to the trash, emptied the trash, rebooting the system and going into Entourage preferences, hoping that Entourage would create a new file with some default value that could be changed with new settings, to no avail. Somehow, Entourage remembers the previous preferences even though the file was deleted.
Does anyone know where Entourage keeps the preferences other than the file above?

I'm not sure what pref stores this info. Some preferences are actually in
the database and not a pref file.

I'm not sure you can really set what you want in Entourage. This is a
frequent complaint.

Workarounds

Option 1: The workaround I have applied in my organization is to go to
File/Page Setup and change the scale from 100% to 75%. You will only need to
do this once.

Option 2: Copy the e-mail into a "text editor" to select font and size.

Select All. Copy the text in the email and paste it into a text editor like
the default application, TextEdit or Microsoft Word. If you need more
details, under Message in the Menu bar select "Source." copy source and
print.
