Entourage Shortcut Key - "Delete Message"

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the shortcut keys in Entourage?
Right now *Command+Delete* is set to delete a message rather than delete a
single character on the screen. It's really annoying when you're typing a
message and try to erase some characters on the screen.

I don't use entourage, but it seems to me that if you want to delete some
characters only, then backspace or delete would be fine without the "Command"
key.
