I'm not sure if it is possible to restore the ones that have already been
deleted from the POP server, but here's how to prevent it from happening
again:

Select Accounts from the Tools menu
(or Account Settings from the Entourage menu)
Double-click on the Account of interest
Select the Option tab in account edit
Check the box labeled Leave a copy of each message on the server
Consider which if any of the automatic deletion options you want and check
those.

actually did select the box. Fortunately, after that accident happened i decided to disable Entourage from preventing it again. I didn't uninstall it because of the important messages it took from the server, that i'm trying to have them back. Do you think i can have those emails maybe moved to Mail application instead?

Let's go over some basics about account types (POP, IMAP, Exchange) and
their behavior.

IMAP & Exchange works by keeping mail on the server. POP works by
downloading your mail to your computer. More info:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/glossary/pop_imap.html>

A POP account can be set to leave mail on the server after downloading, but
the best option when you want to share an account is to use IMAP.

When creating an account in Entourage, select IMAP. The same setting are
used to set up the account. It will then show up in the folder list with
it's own Inbox, Sent, Drafts etc.

If both accounts are set up as IMAP or Exchange/IMAP then you don't have to
forward messages, you will be using the same mailbox on the server.

Hope this helps!

Once you have an IMAP account set up, you can simply drag the messages from
the folders "On My Computer" to the corresponding folders on the IMAP
account. This will copy them back to the server.

Btw, i think the account i have opened with entourage is a pop3. Can i edit it as an IMAP to do the procedure you just mentioned?

Hi,

whether you can access your account via IMAP is determined by the service
provider. See if the support pages mention this, or contact someone from
tech support; if the provider offers POP3 and IMAP access, you can switch
over to IMAP and follow Diane's advice.
