Entourage will not launch from the dock or the App folder...tossed preferences...tried shift, option, combinations while launching and it doesn't even bounce...is there a way to delete part of the database?...could it be too big and now just won't open?...still looking for the CD to reinstall, which might work...
what if the database is too big?
thanks for anyone's help!

Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or
if it¹s your User¹s folder that contains the problem.

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the
New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching. Test Office there.

Your problem does not sound like database issues.

If you experience problem in the new User, I would download and run the
latest Tiger combo. Doing so overwrites potentially problem-causing files.
Several users have reported this fixed some odd problems they were having
with Entourage. Combo updaters will install on the same version as they¹re
applying‹no need to roll back or do a clean install.

Tiger:

Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo Update (PPC)

Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo Update (Intel)

<http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx10411updateintel.html>

If you still experience problems, make sure Office 2004 is full updated.
Download the 11.5.0 combo updater.

When updating Entourage log out/in with Shift key down to disable all
running applications. Restart after installing.

Let me know if you continue to have problems.
