Entourage won't send attachments

PLEASE USE MY EMAIL AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS MESSAGE. THANKS. DELETE THE

I have Entourage 2004 running with Mac OS 10.4.2 (Tiger) on a G4 17"
Powerbook.

We run Exchange for email and calendars.

I have created identities as an Exchange user and as an IMAP account.
This problem exists regardless of the type of identity (account) I have.

If I create and send an e-mail with no attachments, it is transmitted
without a problem

If I create and send an e-mail with an attachment (regardless of size),
the mail sits in the out box until I receive a "dropped by server"
message.

Our IT manager (who is very mac-friendly) and I (have used Macs
exclusively since 1985) are baffled. We have deleted and recreated
accounts by the dozens. He has examined the properties in Exchange page
by page. We are having no luck.

At the same time this is happening, my calendar entries (that I have
deleted last year suddenly have begun replicating and throeatening to
overrun all of our storage. In less than 30 minutes we ate up over 550
gigs and we had to crash the system.

I am the only Mac in the system and am the only person having a problem
with e-mail. The replication of appointments only occurs when I start
Entourage and try to send an e-mail with an attachment. The replication
stops as soon as I quit Entourage 2004.

PLEASE! Has anyone got any ideas??

Thank You!
