Entourage X forwarding messages and attachments

D

DrDebi

Is there a way to forward messages and attachments received by me on
to someone else?
When I attempt to forward a message I get the intro information about
who sent the message, but not the body and I get NO attachments. :(
If I choose redirect, I can't even change the subject line so that
doesn't work.
Any ideas. Frustrated user. :(

For some reason, you have not told us which version of Entourage you're
using. How are we supposed to guess? (especially since you didn't send the
message from Entourage but from a web browser).

Entourage, like other Mac email clients, replies to and forwards the text
you have selected. To make sure that you get the full text when _nothing_ is
selected, make sure that in Preferences/Reply & Forward, you have "Include
entire message in Reply" checked. But you still have to make sure that you
haven't selected, say, an empty space only when forwarding, or that's all
that will get forwarded. To be sure, select (highlight) all the text you
wish to forward before clicking Forward.

This will apply to plain text messages, and will also turn HTML text
messages into plain text. For complex HTML with pictures, and also if you
don't want to lose the formatting of HTML (formatted) text messages, you
have to do it a different way, and it differs in 2004 and earlier versions.

If Entourage 2004, just go to Message menu/Forward as Attachment . That will
open a new message, with the original as an attachment. you can add extra
text if you wish. In most cases, the attachment will appear inline (as part
of the messages) by the recipient, who won't have to open it - it will all
be right there just as you saw it.

In Entourage X and 2001, you have to make your own new message, or forward
with just a word or so selected, to get the FW: subject. Then drag the
original message form the message list to this new message. Again, it will
become an attachment that usually displays inline for the recipient.

PLEASE always state which version of Microsoft Office you are using -
**2004**, X or 2001. It's often impossible to answer your questions
otherwise.

I'm sorry if I didn't format my question correctly. I figured that by
putting "Entourage X" in the subject anyone reading this would know
that I was using "Entourage X for Mac" ... I didn't think there was
another Entourage X. Sorry again for my ignorance...

Thanx for the response. I'm amazed that a mail program that I had to
"pay" for is more archaic than the "free" Mail that came with my
Mac!!! :)

There isn't any other Entourage X. Only for the Mac. But it's the name of
one particular version, that came out in late 2001. There is now a newer
version, also for the Mac, named Entourage 2004. (Perhaps you meant
"Entourage for Mac OS X"? There are now two of those - Entourage X and
Entourage 2004.) There are changes and improvements in 2004 which don't
exist in X. It's important to say which version you have. In this case
"Forward As Attachment" is easier in 2004 than it is in X.
