Entries being placed in the Delete folder upon signing in

Not sure where to place this, but have a few instances whereby when some
customers open Outlook 2003, a Calendar entry for that day is placed in the
Deleted Items, if customers use OWA no problem, and only happens on opening
Outlook client, so would indicate a client setting of some sort, though not
easily identified, any suggestions grately received, many thanks for your
time and help in advance
