Envelope printing problem

If this is not in line with this site, maybe someone can point me in
the right direction.
I am using a Mac OS 10.3 with MS Word 98 and an HP psc 2210 all in
one printer. Everything works fine except that an envelope will not
print in Word 98. The envelope goes through the printer and comes out
blank. I can print an envelope in Appleworks and in Word in OS 9. They
come out just fine, but once I go to OS X the same Word program will
not print an envelope. The same thing happened in 10.2 and I thought
the update might help but it didn't
HP tells me that as long as it prints an envelope in another program,
it isn't the printer or the printer software and they cannot help me.
Any suggestions or directions will be appreciated. Bud

I use Apple OS X 10.2.6, HP1600CM printer
and G3 Minitower. When I updated to v10.2 from
v10.1, I found the printing system used something
called CUPS. There was no built-in driver for my
older HP1600CM printer.
Look for downloads and the latest information, visit
http://www.linusprinting.org/macosx/hpijs
Two download files are required:
one for the cupsomatic filter for CUPS and the foomatic
PPD files:
Easy Software Products and Source Forge give some
answers:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/espgs/
Some of the software is referred to as " ESP Ghostscript. "
Hope this helps.
