Envelopes print blank

I've tried and tried but my envelopes will not print.
Everything else does EXCEPT the envelopes.
Please advise,

I've heard that sometimes envelopes are printed not with the black cartridge
but with a combination of colors (or maybe it was the other way around).
Check all of your ink cartridges. Clean the heads.
