How do I set up an envelopes shortcut on the toolbar? I managed it in Office
2000, but can't work out how to do it in Office 2003

Right click on the toolbar, choose Customize, choose the Commands tab,
scroll to Tools, then on the right side find and drag Envelopes and Labels
to the toolbar of your choice.

I can now get the envelopes shortcut on the toolbar, thanks to you, but it
disappears everytime I close Word down. Is there a way to keep the envelope
button permanently on the tool ba?

In Word, toolbar customizations are stored in the normal.dot global
template. After adding a toolbar button, if you are prompted to save
your normal.dot template when you exit Word, you should say yes.

The Envelopes and Labels tool can be dragged to _any_ Word 2003 toolbar. It
can even be dragged to the menu bar, either parallel to the main menu items
or within any of them.

When you get ready to drop the tool into place, make sure that the pointer
is inside a toolbar, and that there is no little X by what you're dragging.
If the X isn't showing, then you're in a valid location for dropping the
tool into place.

Also... choose Tools - Customize - Options and enable both "Show Standard
and Formatting toolbars on two rows" and "Always show full menus". That way,
you can be sure the tool you add to the toolbar isn't hiding.
