EPM 2003 - Task date changes when timesheet actuals are accepted

If a resource does not work the full amount assigned to him on a task, once
the Project Manager has accepted his timesheet time the task end date moves
out to accomodate the unfulfilled time.

It is a fixed duration, non effort driven task.

How can we prevent the dates from moving out?

Hi there ,

If i understand correctly you say a resource completed a teask early ?
Ie the resource was supposed to work 40hrs but managed to complete the
work in 30 hrs. You do not mention what version you are using, but the
way would be to remove all remaining work. In 2007 on the tasks page
if the function is enabled the resource can do it themselves.
Otherwise the PM can do in in the schedule in MSP.
