EPM adding time to tasks that were not done on a particular day

Administrative projects have been setup for various managers to track
their time on various support tasks. One of the managers went in and
extended the finish dates of the tasks on the plan and now EPM has
added a percentage of hours as worked on each particular day from the
date that it was extended till the new finish date. Does anyone know
what is happening?

A consultant who works for Microsoft and who occasionally frequents this
group has strongly recommended that you DO NOT everchange the Duration of
tasks in an administrative project. He reported that this causes all kinds
of problems with the software. I believe that is probably the source of
your current problem.

To fix this problem, I would strongly recommend that you save this project
as an .mpp file, delete it from the Project Server database, and then create
a new Administrative project from scratch. I doubt there is any way to
repair the problem with the existing project.

If anyone else has thoughts on your problem, I will gladly invite them to
