Equation problem with copy and paste from character map

A

Ardell

Using Word 2002 - I am creating equations and copying/pasting Greek
characters from the Character Map. Some of the letters do not paste
correctly. I get a ? when pasting ? (Cyrillic Capital Letter Barred O
U+04E8). The character pastes okay into the document, but wrong into the
Equation. My Charater Map is set to Times New Roman and Unicode.

Have you ever heard of this?

Ardell, you don't say how you're creating your equation. Are you
using Word's field codes or are you using Equation Editor (aka
"Microsoft Equation")? If you're using Equation Editor there are
Greek letter palettes on the toolbar, so copying & pasting from
Character Map should be unnecessary. Click once on the palette
that shows the lambda, omega, and theta on the outside of the
palette. Clicking on the palette will open the entire palette,
then you can choose the character you want.
