erasing all writing quickly?

Someone at school told me that there's a way to create a transparacy layer so
I can quickly wipe off everything I've scribbled on my notes during class to
reuse for teh next block. I can't figure it out. does anyone know how to wipe
all pen writing off a page?

It seems that you after the "lasso".
Click on the "lasso" icon in the IconBar/toolbar. The cursor will appear
with a little cross. Click at the point you want to start marking what
you have written, then "draw" witch it to select the area.
When ready with drawing, the area will be marked and can be deleted.
