Error 0x800CCC67 - Problems with sending e-mails - Bennett

M

mbennett

I searched the database and found some similar problems to mine, but none was
quite the configuration I have. I am getting the subject error when I
send/receive; I seem to be receiving incoming mail fine, but outgoing mail is
stopped. This is a new problem after about two years with no problems. I
called my ISP and they spent about an hour checking settings and they seemed
to think I was OK with them, but suggested I call McAfee (my virus software)
since they might have done a recent download/update. I spent about an hour
with McAfee and they ultimately suggested I increase my "server timout"
duration, which I did and that seemed to work for a day. Now I am back with
the same problem. I have Outlook 2003, a Dell computer, and a cable internet
connection with a wireless router. Full text of the error is "Task
'mail.myeastern.com - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC67) : ' The server
responded: 421 metrocast.net service unavailable.'" Please advise.

Hello M.Bennett,

I'm not sure if you were able to resolve the 0x800CCC67 error or not? I had
this same error with a client of the company I work for. Usually these e-mail
errors are no problem at all to resolve, but I had to do quite a bit of
research to resolve it for him. I wrote down my troubleshooting process and
other details that I found all over the and compiled them into a single step
by step guide that can easily be followed in my blog/knowledge base.
Everything that takes me some time to fix for the most part, I write about
and share with others and also save myself some trouble if I come across the
same thing again. If anyone else read's this, I would invite you to read the
tutorial directly at this link: <a

Vista/XP Mail/Outlook Error 0x800ccc67</a> If anyone has any questions or
something to add, you can post a comment on the article or reply to this
thread/newsgroup. I subscribe to all the threads I post information to and
monitor my email every few days or so. Good luck to anyone who may be reading
this having this error.

Regards Angela,
