Error 1304

S

Shannon

I was having problems with MS Office Students & teachers,
so I decided to uninstall it, then reinstall. When I
tried to reinstall I kept getting "Error 1304". The error
message said to verify that I have access to the directory
or something along that line. The computer I have is a
personal computer, not connected to a network or anything,
so I should have access to everything on it right?

If anyone could help me out, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Shannon

Hi Shannon,

I have come across this Error before. There couldn't be 2 reasons why u
get the error.
CAUSE 1. This problem occurs when there is more than one installation of
Microsoft Office or an Office program on your computer, and the
installations are conflicting.
RESOLUTION 1.
To resolve this problem, remove the duplicate program (for example, Word,
Excel, or Office XP Small Business Edition), and then install Office or the
Office program again.

CAUSE 2. You receive one of these error messages when there is a
configuration problem with your CD-ROM drive or a problem with the CD-ROM
media itself.
RESOLUTION 2.
IF you are installing from CD.Test your CD-ROM drive configuration, reduce
the drive caching for your CD-ROM drive.

I would say most probably you are getting the error beacuse of the CAUSE 1.

Thank You...
