Error 1310

I get "Error 1310. Writing to file...System32\FM20.DLL Verify that you have
access to that directory." This message comes up when I try to install or
repair or uninstall Office 2003. This all started when I tried to update
Office. Please, any hints of what I need to do would be great. I don't
really want to reconfigure the computer, but if that's my only option, please
let me know.
