Error 1311 Office install with XP home ed

I've read the fix for this error message and no success.
I try to download CD files to HD but get "Cannot copy
MSENV2UI: The parameter is not correct".
Similar message "Cannot copy PROJ" Cannot read from
source file or disk" when I use the original CD.
Any Suggestions??
