I attempted to do a detect and repair today of my Office XP and got a 1311 error, the program was unable to locate the required files on my CD-ROM. In order to resolve this issue I had to copy the needed files unto my hard drive. This is the second time I've had this error; the previous time was after some upgrades I downloaded from the Office Update website had downloaded and it asked me for the original program disc. Why is this happening? Bad disc? My OS is Windows XP Home Edition.
