I tried to install Office 2003 on a windows XP SP2 system. Office XP
already running. I get the infamous error 1402. Setup cannot open the
registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\OptionalComponents\IMail
In trying to fix things, I uninstalled office XP and got the same
error upon attempt to reinstall. Now I can't even activate Office XP.
All knowledge base hints point to changing permissions on Error 1402.
