Error 1606...\Plugins

Hi,

I'm trying to install Office XP on a laptop that has
Office 97 on it. Very early during installation I get the
message

"Error 1606. Could not access network location \Plugins."

and installation aborts.

I searched through MS Knowledgebase articles; although
there were articles dealing with similar situations, I
could not figure out how these apply to my situation
(i.e., with '\Plugins').

Can somebody help me? Thanks..
