folks,
i have installed office 2000 on an xp professional
machine. when i log in as a user, it runs the installer
and i get the 1706 error. i have read article 299803
regarding this issue and i need help.
the article tells me to edit the registry but i get an
error that says "error writing the value's new contents."
i need to point to the data1.msi file on the cd rom and
it won't work.
what do i do?
