Error 3259

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Email Client: imap

I have an IMAP account that works very well internally on my Macbook Pro with Entourage. However, I am unable to connect to my mail server from outside of the office. I keep getting connection timed out error receiving mails but I can send the mails without any problems. How do I resolve this issue? The funny thing is, I have dual boot on this system running Windows XP and I have no problems whatsoever on it. I can connect to my mail server from anywhere. I only have this issue on Mac OS. The mailserver is Linux.

Thanks in advance!!

Check with your system administrator on how to access email when not on your
company's network. You almost certainly have settings for your IMAP and SMTP
servers that work only from inside the network. This is a common situation.

But how is it that I can connect to the same server from the same MacBook Pro but from Windows XP OS? If it is the settings on the server, I wouldn't be able to connect from anywhere at all. As I mentioned, I am unable to connect only from Entourage.

Did you confirm that you have identical settings for the IMAP server in
Outlook and in Entourage? Exactly the same server name and security settings
(advanced receiving and sending options)?
