Error 5981 can not open macro storage

I am having an issue with a document mangement system that opens up word
templates. When I am trying to create the documents in this viewer i am
getting the message "error 5981: can not open macro storage" excel and
powerpoint documents are fine and create the way they are meant to. I have
tried uninstalling and re installing MS office but the same error still comes
up. IS there something that needs to be ticked or marked in word to enable
it to open in another program?? Thanks.
