Error 7723

I added a user to my AD group and then I received the following error on the
next sync. The bad news is that the user didn't sync. The good news is that
the rest of the users did sync. Has anybody else run into this error?

Active Directory Synchronization cannot resolve reference to a nested
object. This could be because the object does not exist, the user does not
have permission or because of a communication problem between the project
server application server and active directory.

Thanks,
Theo

Hi Tsamo,

I am not sure of the details, but I think this has been covered before in
the newsgroups. I am not a huge fan of AD sync myself, and thus have not
actually picked up issues (less likely to pick up issues if you don't use
it...), but I seem to remember there were definate issues that were quite
serious for some users.

The recommendation seems to have been not to use it, at least until SP1
comes out - which of course is later this week (as per very recent
information).

Also - some links:
http://blogs.msdn.com/chrisfie/arch...rver-active-directory-ad-synchronization.aspx

http://groups.google.com/groups/sea...rver+active+directory+sync&qt_s=Search+Groups

(the last one is simply a Google Groups search for "Project Server 2007
Active Directory sync" - I find the Google Groups search functionality
*invaluable* for troubleshooting (as, of course a 'normal' Google for your
term or error code).

thanks,
Nico

I didn't find a whole lot out there. Maybe I should hold off my
troubleshooting until after the SP1 release.
