Error Accessing Calendar

B

Brian

Hi All,

Outlook 2007, Exchange 2003. One of my users is getting the error "The
connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or
connected to complete this action". The error only occurs when he tries to
open his calendar.

Searching on this error, it seems to be a common occurence, but none of the
usual fixes seem to have worked so far. I checked the registry for missing
references to DLL files. We deleted the user's outlook settings. We even
recreated the user's entire roaming profile. No luck.

If the user logs on to another computer, he still gets the same error. Other
users on the computer are okay. So its nothing about the individual
computer. Thus most of the fixes I have found on this issue.

So I think we've ruled out pretty much everything except to delete and
recreate his entire user account in AD. That will be a lot of work, since
the user is a developer and has a lot of things tied to his existing
account. I suppose we could try and just recreate his Exchange account
(dumping his existing mailbox contents to PST first, of course), but I'm not
sure if we could expect that to make any difference. So before we do that, I
wanted to bounce this off the community here and see if anyone has any other
ideas?

Thanks,
Brian
