Error accessing frontpage web files

I published a web using Frontpage 2000 and it worked fine.

Now when I have the page up on the screen using internet explorer and click
on "file" / "edit with Microsoft Front Page"
I get an error message saying:
"An error occurred accessing your FrontPage web files. If authoring
against a web server, Please contact the webmaster for the server's site .
Webmsters please see the server's system log for details"

I deinstalled and reinstalled Front page but that didn't help.

The ISP who hosts the site said "talk to Microsoft" . Ha Ha ,

Has anyone encountered this problem ?

How to Fix it ??

Would buying Frontpage 2003 help ??
