Error Accsess file

Dick Hob

I am getting the Network connnectin may have been lost error messages as
described in MS KB #304548
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;EN-US;304548

AND
I have lost ALL of my VBA code! (forms, reports, and modules)

I'm using Access 2k and Windows 2k. I just rebuilt my system from scratch.
All pataches, service packs etc are in place.

Is this articale REALLY saying that I cannot IMPORT froms and reports from
and existing database? Is the IMPORT wizard broken in Access2k? I can't go
to another version- my client is married to this version. How do I prevent
this from happening?

Suggestions PLEASE?

Thanks
DIck

Hi, Dick.
All pataches, service packs etc are in place.

Is this articale REALLY saying that I cannot IMPORT froms and reports from
and existing database?

No. Now that you have MS Office 2K SP-3 installed, this problem will not
occur from new imports into existing databases or imports into new
databases.
Is the IMPORT wizard broken in Access2k?

You're getting ahead of yourself there. The Import Wizard is just fine for
Access 2K. It's the later versions that are broken.

The Import Wizard is broken when MS Office XP SP-3 is installed on computers
with Access XP. There's a Hot Fix for this, though. The Import Wizard is
also broken in MS Office Access 2003, but this is also fixed in MS Office
2003 SP-1.
How do I prevent
this from happening?

You've already installed the MS Office 2K SP-3, so you've prevented this
from happening in the future. The VBA code that has already been corrupted
before you fixed the problem is toast, though. I hope you have backups or
saved the code as text before it was corrupted.

HTH.
