Error Acquiring Picture From Scanner

L

Larry

I am running Windows XP Pro and using an Epson Stylus
CX5400 Printer/Scanner. I recently upgraded to Office
2003 from Office 2000. When I was using Office 2000 I
could insert a picture directly from the scanner
using "custom insert". Since upgrading to Office 2003 I
can no longer insert directly from my scanner. I receive
an error message that says there was a problem acquiring
the image. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the Epson
software and ran repair for Office 2003 but still can't
scan directly into any of the Office applications.
Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Larry,
Just a suggestion.
Have you updated the cx5400 p / s drivers?
There is a twain driver / scan utility v1.25a date 2/14/04. You may want to check your driver version and update if necessary.

Thanks Chris.
Actually after I sent my note I went into my registry and
noted that I had some old printers still registered and
more than one CX5400 listed. I deleted all the old stuff
and the duplicate versions of CX5400. Also downloaded
from Microsoft the new conversion pack for Offfice 2003.
All is working fine now - don't know exactly why, but
heck it works.
