Error and endless loop

Access 2007 - Preview report - I get message box that says "Microsoft Office
Access can't find the field..." I click OK and get the box again and again
and again.
Is there any way out of this loop but to force the entire application down?

It might seem like an endless loop, but it is probably just throwing up the
error for each field it can't find. You might be able to stop it by pressing
Ctrl+Break.

Open your report in design view and check the ControlSources, query and
sorting fields to find out where your problem lies. If you have 2003 or 2007
and have the Error Checking turned on, you should see little markers on any
control that has a bad controlsource.

Thanks for replying. I had tried the Ctrl+Break. Didn't work. Also, the
problem hasn't come back, so who knows. But I have seen this kind of thing
before, and it seems that MS hasn't given us an escape hatch for this.

Yeah, Ctrl+Break doesn't always work, but keep it in mind for future use.

Did you find the cause? Sometimes compacting will force a re-indexing which
solves a lot of Access voodoo.
