error code 906

Hi,
I am trying to copy shapes from a word file (opened using word xp) to visio
2002, I got the following error message:

An error (906) occurred during the action Paste.
Visio is unable to paste the OLE object.

I ended up have to use paste special to paste. However, the other problem I
have is shapes I copied over previously from another word file (opened in
word 2003) are not being displayed by visio 2002.

Please help.
