We have recently migrated a number of users from using Exchange 5.5 and NT 4
to using Exchange 2000. They are still logging onto the network using their
NT 4 accounts and are then connecting to their Exchange 2000 mailboxes, (the
NT accounts have been given full mailbox access rights). They are using
outlook XP.
When they try to download a copy of the Offline Address Book it fails and
puts the following in the synchronisation log
10:05:41 Microsoft Exchange offline address book
10:05:41 0X80004005
The rest of their mailbox synchronises OK.
If they log on using their AD login ID instead of the NT4 one they can
download the offline address book. Unfortunatley this isn't an option yet
though because all their data access, over numerous file servers, is all
still permissioned using their NT accounts.
