Error during adjusting column in Forms Design Preview section

I hit below error while changing the column span size;

Yes, courtesy of MVP Mark Smith:

If you have a Date field (or fields) on your form, make sure you set a
default value for the date (like today). I had the same problem yesterday
and this solved it.
